History:
Master bookbinder Klaus Goldschmidt received his degree in Graphic Arts from the University in Berlin, Germany in 1955. After serving his apprenticeship he took the opportunity to travel the world when he accepted tradesmen’s passage to Tasmania, Australia. While in Australia he worked as a printing finisher and box maker. In 1965 he decided to immigrate to the USA to be in closer proximity to Germany. He boarded a ship with his wife and three small children bound for San Francisco, California where he quickly found a job at Globe Printing, advancing into management. In 1990 Klaus moved to Georgia and continued his career in print finishing management . Now retired, Klaus enjoys working in his craft of hand bookbinding from his home in Colbert, Georgia.
